Without Love, there can be no Reconciliation; without Reconciliation, there can be no Peace;
without Peace, there can be no Hope.
The Art of Love, Reconciliation, Peace, and Hope is a three day conference of lectures and
workshops, inspired by the works and world view of artist Marc Chagall (1887-1985).
The event is the creation of a group of local individuals and organizations committed to
exploring these expressions through the arts and conversation.
The conference will delve into these topics through musical presentations; lectures on
the art works of Marc Chagall, dinner with keynote speaker Stephen G. Post, founding direc-
tor of the Center for Medical Humanities, Compassionate Care, and Bioethics at Stony Brook
University and award-winning author; a panel-facilitated discussion about social and ecological
justice; and interactive art projects for children.
Beyond the conference, the aim is to continue further dialogue among religious and humanitari-
an traditions, artists and scholars on how we can change approaches to societal and cultural conflict
with the language of Love and promote a future of Peace and Reconciliation and Hope.
